Use of condoms as a means of male contraception in order to limit the number of birth and support the family planning program (KB) in Indonesia is still hampered by the existence of social norms. That social barriers has formed from the stigma in the middle of the community that condom-users are not good.
Head of National Family Planning Coordination Board/ Badan Koordinasi Keluarga Berencana Nasional (BKKBN) Sugiri Syarief mention it, Tuesday (16 / 6), after attending the event of Gebyar Percepatan Pencapaian Peserta KB Baru Provinsi Jawa Timur Menuju Kabupaten/Kota bebas Unmeet Need KB at Mojokerto District government Building.
Sugiri said, This negative imagery made targets of BKKBN to reach 578,000 this year on the family planning acceptors with male condom method not achieve satisfactory results.
